Checking the Basic
IBM 6868 System
Having read Chapter 2, you should now understand the type of
IBM 6868 system that you ordered and the board sets that go with each
system. You must now check the IBM 6868 system to make sure it
functions properly
before you start the integration procedure.

The new IBM 6868 system ships with the Windows 2000 operating system.
As you boot the system for the first time, you are asked to complete the system
build by answering questions about the system and its software. Answer the
questions as if you were the customer, but remember that you will be
removing the Windows 2000 operating system when you use the Avid Setup
and Product Recovery CD-ROM in later chapters.

The box used by IBM to ship the IBM 6868 system is not the same box used
by IBM to ship the IBM 6866 system. The box that ships with the IBM 6868
system should
not be used more than once. You should use the box that ships
with the Avid Xpress kit as the shipping box for the IBM 6868 system.
