Types of FTP proxy servers
As an alternative to a VPN connection through the Internet, the management console can be set up to use
the file transfer protocol (FTP) for sending error data to IBM. Table 73 lists the supported types of FTP
proxy servers.

Inbound (remote services) work sheet
The inbound (remote services) work sheet allows you to specify whether you want
to allow unattended inbound remote services through the modem, and the settings
to use if you allow unattended sessions.
If you choose not to allow unattended service sessions during the initial
configuration and you later want to have your storage unit serviced remotely, you
must make specific scheduling arrangements with an IBM service representative.
You then can either configure the management console to temporarily allow
unattended remote services (specifying a start and stop date) or appoint an on-site
person to manually enable the inbound call from the IBM service representative.
This person must remain at the management console during the service session.
