This chapter describes the 7131 Storage Tower, its features, and operating requirements.
The 7131 Storage Tower is a compact, data storage device that connects to a host system, such as a RISC System/6000. It contains 5
hot-swap bays and 2 media bays into which data storage devices can be installed. You can order a 7131 Storage Tower with up to 5
hot-swap hard disk drives for the 5 hot-swap bays. You can equip the 2 media bays with manual-plug tape drives, CD-ROM drives, or
hard disk drives. Figure 1-1 shows the front view of the 7131 Storage Tower with the door closed.
