After
the
cleaning
cartridge
has
been
inserted,
the
remainder
of
the
following
cleaning
process
is
automatic:
1.
The
cleaning
cartridge
is
loaded
into
the
tape
drive.
2.
The
tape
drive
is
cleaned
by
moving
the
cleaning
tape
forward
for
approximately
30
seconds.
3.
The
cleaning
cartridge
is
unloaded
when
the
cleaning
operation
is
complete.
4.
The
clean
or
media
LED
turns
off
to
indicate
a
successful
cleaning
operation.
(If
the
clean
or
media
LED
was
lit
before
the
cleaning
process
started.)
5.
If
the
cleaning
operation
completes
but
the
clean
LED
remains
lit,
repeat
the
cleaning
procedure
with
a
new
cleaning
cartridge.
If
the
LED
still
remains
lit,
replace
the
tape
drive.

Setting
write
protection
on
a
cartridge
The
front
of
the
cartridge
has
a
write-protect
switch
to
prevent
accidental
erasure.
Slide
the
write-protect
switch
to
the
left
to
enable
write
protection,
or
slide
the
switch
to
the
right
to
enable
writing.
