A rabbet is a recess or groove cut into the edge of a piece of wood.
This is two-sided and open to the edge or end of the surface into
which it is cut.
To make a stepped cut
(rabbeting),
use the edge fence
(guide rule
provided with the product).
Insert the edge fence into the hole (5) in
the front of the tool. Align the blade edge with the cutting line.
Adjust the fence until it comes in contact with the side of the
work piece, then secure it by tightening the wing nut (4).
When planing, move the tool with the edge fence flush with the
side of the work piece.
Maximum rabbeting depth is 10 mm
.
