Intonation adjustment
Loosen the locking nut string stopper bolt (Fig. 37). Remove the
intonation adjustment bolts (Fig. 38 H) stored in the bridge unit,
tighten them in the screw holes at the rear of the saddle so that
the bolt tips touch the bridge unit wall. Loosen the saddle lock bolts
(Fig. 35 C), turn the intonation adjustment bolts and adjust the
saddle position. After adjustment, tighten the saddle lock bolts suf-
ficiently so that the saddles do not move to the front during tuning
and put the intonation adjustment bolts together in the bridge unit.
String replacement
Loosen the locking nut string stopper bolts (Fig. 37), and after com-
pletely loosening them with the spool, loosen the bridge saddle
string stopper bolts (Fig. 38 G) with a hex wrench and remove the
old string. Cut off the ball end part (Fig. 39) of the new string with
wire cutters as shown in the figure, insert the cut off end into the
bridge saddle and wind up the string with the spool after fastening
the string stopper bolts tightly. After tuning, confirm the installation
angle of the tremolo unit and then fasten the locking nut string
stopper bolts and you are finished.
Tuning precision
In order to obtain the best tuning precision, it is effective to apply a
very small amount of oil to the left and right edges of the tremolo.
In addition, applying a very small amount of oil to the location
where the saddle contacts the string will reduce the friction that
occurs when the arm is operated, and will help to keep the tuning
stable and prevent string fatigue (breakage).
