Upper thread tension 870
The three setting points create a "tension curve" in the software, we want this curve to be as linear as pos-
sible. The settingpoints does NOT effect each other, however they effect the curve BETWEEN each other.
Check
A correct take-up should be obtained at straight stitching, zig-zag, button hole and satin stitches using nor-
mal cotton fabrics and polyester thread.
Adjustment
Adjust the upper thread tension in service menu 3, function no. 0.
There are three diffrent modes (A).
1: For setting the thread tension for stitches with low tension (Satin and button holes).
2: For setting normal thread tension (straight and zigzag stitching).
3: For setting the thread tension for stitches with high tension (set from factory). You should use a setting
gauge to set setting 3 at 170g. There is no stitch in the machine that utilises 170g thread tension, the stitch
that utilises the highest threadtension is 2:11. If you dont have a setting gauge you can use the stitch 2:11

Select mode by pushing "+" or "-" stitch length
Adjust the tension value (A) for each mode by pushing "+" or "-" stitch width.
Run the machine and adjust until a correct take-up is obtained.
