Hardware •
When assembling the system, place the receive
modem on top of the transmit modem to aid
heat dissipation.
•
Use a surge protector to protect against
electrical power surges.
•
Do not connect the receive modem to the USB
port on your computer prior to beginning the
software installation. The software prompts
you when it is time to do this.
•
For two-way operation, the only time you need
to use a telephone modem is during the
WebSetup portion of the software installation
(with the exception of using dial-up as a
backup).
•
Previous releases of DirecPC system
hardware (such as PCI card or DVB USB
modems) cannot coexist with the satellite
DIRECWAY modems and must be uninstalled.
Software
•
Always back up your computer system prior to
upgrading or installing new software.
•
Verify that all applications are closed prior to
beginning the software installation.
