The five-step 
installation 
process

Installing the two-way system is a five-step 
process:

1. Have a professional satellite system installer 

assemble, install, and point your satellite dish 
and run the cables from the outside 
components to the inside components. The 
installer fine-tunes your satellite dish for 
transmission operations to ensure that no 
interference is caused to other satellite users.

2. You or the professional installer assembles the 

satellite modem components on page 13.

3. Install the software yourself or allow the 

professional installer to do it on page 16.

4. Register your account yourself or allow the 

professional installer to register for you on 
page 21.

5. Power up and surf.

The professional installer performs the entire 
installation with your permission. If you would 
rather install the software yourself, the professional 
installer coaches you through the process.

See page 39 for instructions on how to configure 
e-mail and optimize your browser.

You need to have an analog telephone modem 
connection to register the system. After installation 
the telephone modem is not needed but can be used 
as a backup.

Notes: The receive modem must be installed on 
top of the transmit modem. 

Because this satellite dish is transmit capable, it 
must be professionally installed. 

Do not connect the USB cable to the computer until 
instructed to do so during software installation. 
Make sure your professional installer labels your 
receiver coaxial cable and your transmitter coaxial 
cable.
