the machine, or become detached during lifting.
i)
Ensure the bin clamps are correctly adjusted to suit the required bin size.
Keeping hands and limbs away from the clamp, and ensuring no other person is in the
hazard area, locate the bin(s) above the pick-up comb(s) and operate the clamping
(CLAMP APPLY) button, holding the button until the clamp is fully engaged to secure
the bin.
WARNING
Stop the engine and remove the ignition key before making any adjustments to
the bin clamp settings to avoid the danger of accidental operation of the
hydraulic system
j)
Only operate/raise the tilting mechanism (RAISE BIN) button once it is confirmed that
the bin is securely attached and that all persons are clear, and remain clear, of the
hazard area.
k)
Never place body parts (notably arms, hands and fingers) in the area of the clamping
or tilting mechanisms. If any person enters this area, immediately stop the operation
of the mechanism by releasing the relevant pushbutton.
l)
Verify that the bin remains correctly located and clamped and continue to raise the bin
to the cleaning position, constantly monitoring the area around the mechanism and
raising bin to ensure that the operator and all other persons are and remain clear of
the tilting mechanism and the moving bin.
WARNING:
Do not operate the
“CLAMP OFF” pushbutton once a bin is in its raised
position. A bin released from the lift whilst elevated could fall uncontrollably
and cause injury and damage
.
m)
Ensure bin(s) are elevated into their correct cleaning positions
and commence
cleaning using the hose and lance. Minimise production of aerosol and avoid
breathing any that is released, wearing respiratory protective equipment as assessed
to be required and appropriate to any hazard(s) present.
n)
When the bin is clean, leave for a moment to drain any remaining water.
o)
Once this has been done, operate the LOWER BIN pushbutton return the bin to its
lowered position, again ensuring that the bin clamp remains secure and engaged and
all persons are clear of both the bin and the tilting mechanism.
p)
Only when the bin is fully lowered should the CLAMP OFF pushbutton be operated
which will disengage the combs and return the bin to ground level from where it can
be wheeled away leaving the unit ready to receive the next bins.
q)
If the machine is to be left unattended, to prevent unauthorised operation stop the
engine and remove the ignition key.
