8.3 Configuring the Video Firewall Function
The video firewall function of the MCU is used for the multimedia communication between
endpoints located in different network segments and is a method for realizing traversal
between private and public networks.
Restrictions
Restrictions of the video firewall function are as follows:
The MCU supports communication between two networks. The communication among
more than two networks is not supported.
The GE0 port must register with a GK. The GE1 port is used only for calls by IP address.
The MCU does not support a point-to-point call between an endpoint on a private
network and one on a public network.
The GE0 ports of all boards must be in the same network segment, while the GE1 ports
of all boards must be in another network segment.
The MCU supports IP route configuration so that data can be sent and received using
only the GE1 port.
Participants connected through the GE1 ports do not support service switchovers.
Prerequisites
Ensure that:
The GE1 port is connected to a network cable for the board on which the video firewall
function is to be used. The GE0 and GE1 ports are in different network segments.
An endpoint is connected to a network in the same network segment with the GE1 port.
Procedure
Step 1
Log in to the MCU web interface.
Step 2
