The communications cable should be shorter than 1000 m (3280.84 ft).
If multiple SUN2000s need to communicate with one another and are connected to the SmartLogger,
a maximum of three daisy chains can be configured to support up to 80 devices. It is recommended
that the number of devices on each daisy chain be less than 30.
PLC Communication
The PLC communication board loads communication signals onto power cables for
transmission. For details about how to install the PLC module, see the
PLC CCO01A User

The built-in PLC module in the SUN2000 does not need to be connected with cables.
5.6.2 Selecting a Communication Mode
The RS485 and PLC communication modes are mutually exclusive.
If PLC is used, do not connect the RS485 communications cable.
If RS485 is used, do not connect the PLC CCO module to the AC power cable.
5.6.3 Connecting the RS485 Communications Cable
The RS485 communications cable can connect to the SUN2000 maintenance compartment
interior in a common way or through a pipe. For details about how to handle the bottom
waterproof connectors in these two methods, see
5.1 Common Cable Connection Operations

Prerequisites
The RS485 communications cable can connect to either a terminal block or an RJ45 network port in the
maintenance compartment. Use one connection mode in practice. Connecting to the terminal block is
recommended.
