Preparing crossover network cable

Note:

1) When preparing the network cable, please use the twisted cable by preference to ensure the
electromagnetic compatibility.
2) The Ethernet interface between the 1FE/2FE module and the configuration terminal can not be
connected directly through the straight-through cable. Use crossover network cable to connect them
directly.
3) You can use HUB to connect the straight-through cable of the 1FE/2FE module’s Ethernet interface to
the Ethernet interface of the configuration terminal.

8.5.6 Connecting Interface Cable

Step 1: If the Ethernet cable is a straight-through cable, plug one end of the cable to an
Ethernet interface of the FE module, and plug another end to the HUB.

Step 2: Power on the router and check the status of READY indicator on the router’s
front panel. It is on when the module has completed self-check and works normally. It is
off when the module fails to pass the self-check, and please contact the local agent of
Huawei.

Step 3: After powering on the system, please check the status of the LINK indicator of
FE. It is on when the line is connected and off when the line is disconnected, in the latter
case, please check the line.

Caution:

When connecting the cables, observe the identifiers on the interfaces to avoid wrong connection and
damage to the module and the router.
