  Note:

According to the definition of Bell V, no ground wire is provided at the cable interface, so the router and the
switch form a loop through the ground. In practice, make sure the two devices are well grounded by
connecting the ground wire of the switch to the chassis of the router.

8.11.6  Connecting Interface Cable

Step 1: Plug one end of the cable to the RJ-45 interface in 2FXS/2FXO/2E&M.

Step 2: Please connect the other end of the cable to the following equipment:

z

 

When you select to install 2FXS, connect the other end of the cable to the ordinary

analog telephone set.

z

  When you select to install 2FXO, connect the other end of the cable to the

subscriber line of the switch, or the external line as we often call it.

z

 

When you select to install 2E&M, connect the other end of the cable to the E&M

trunk cable of the switch.

Step 3: After powering on the system, please check the indicators on the corresponding
slots on the front panel of the router. Several seconds after the module is initialized, all
the lamps will blink once, indicating that the module has completed self-check and is
working normally. If they are off after the system is powered on, this indicates that the
module fails to pass the self-check. In this case, please contact the local agent of
Huawei.

  Caution:

When connecting the cables, observe the identification marks on the interfaces to avoid wrong connection
and damage to the module and the router’s host.
