Now that your system is installed you are ready to begin enjoying the convenience and flexibility of the Lync whole-house audio

control system.

Using the LyncPad keypad

The LyncPad is designed to be user-friendly so that it is not intimidating and anyone can use it the first time.

NOTE:

The LyncPad will enter “sleep mode” after apprx 20 seconds of inactivity. To “wake up” the LyncPad, simply press any

button. Once awake, the following functions are ready to be used:

Volume:

(two buttons)  The top button increases volume and the bottom button decreases volume.  The volume level is displayed

on the LCD screen with a range of 0 to 60.  This wide range is designed to accommodate audio components of varying fixed

output levels. You can press these buttons once for a gradual increase or gain, or press and hold the buttons down for continuous

increase or gain.

Should you discover that one or more of your source components has a lower fixed output level than the rest

of  your  components  (as  is  common  with  some  MP3  players  and  computers),  HTD  offers  two  “gain  boosters”

(models LGB-1 and LGB-4) that are extremely helpful in improving the quality of the sound and in balancing all

source levels to a common baseline.  Call or email us for more information or check out the whole-house audio

accessories section on our website, www.htd.com.

Source:

(two buttons)  Use the top and bottom source buttons to scroll through the sources.  The Source Name will be displayed

on the LCD screen. HTD can provide free PC software to allow you to rename the Sources to be shown on the LCD screen.

Mute/Power:

Press this button to turn the LyncPad on.  Once powered on, press the button to mute the speakers in that zone.

When muted, the LCD will flash the word “MUTE”.  When a zone is muted, the speakers in that zone are not available for intercom

communication.  Press and hold this button for approximately 1 full second to turn off power to the LyncPad (note: if you continue

holding for another 2-3 seconds, all keypads will be powered off- see “ALL OFF” below).  When a Lyncpad is powered off, the

speakers in that zone are not available for intercom communication.

All ON/Party Mode:

It is possible to turn all of the zones to the same source from any LyncPad. This is called “Party Mode”. Select

a source on the LyncPad. Then press and hold either source button for approximately 3 seconds until the word “Party” is displayed

in the upper left section of the screen. All LyncPads not in DND mode will be powered On (if not already on) and switched to this

source. The volume level in each zone will remain at its previous setting. The volume on the originating LyncPad does not affect

other LyncPads. Simply select a different  source on any LyncPad to take that LyncPad out of Party Mode.

All OFF

: Starting with a LyncPad that is powered on, press and hold the power button for approximately 1 second to turn the

LyncPad off.  Continue holding for another 2 seconds and all LyncPads will power off.  Release the power button. Please note that

a LyncPad in DND mode is not affected by the actions of other LyncPads and will not power off when using the All Off function

from another LyncPad.

Do Not Disturb (DND):

Press the DND button to put a zone into Do Not Disturb mode. The letters “DND” will appear in the upper

right corner of the LCD display.  As the name implies, in this mode a zone is not affected by: intercom, party mode, all off, and

system mute. Press the DND button again to remove a zone from DND mode.

Using the built-in MP3 player:

Connecting a USB flash drive (max size 8GB) full of your favorite songs gives you another source

for everyone to enjoy. Songs should be saved in MP3 format. USB hard drives are not supported. See figures below and on next

page.
