NOTE: You cannot log in using an Infrastructure administrator account that is authenticated by an authentication
directory service.
The appliance maintenance console login remains valid for one hour. After one hour of inactivity, you must reenter the
password. The appliance maintenance console session closes after 24 hours of inactivity.

Appliance maintenance console passwords must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Fourteen (14) characters long
• One uppercase alpha character
• One lowercase alpha character
• One numeric character
• One special character
The password that is set for the HPE OneView maintenance account is also used to set the service access password for
the Frame Link Modules (FLMs). When you set the password or refresh an enclosure, the maintenance account password
and service console access state is propagated to all the local and remote FLMs in the ring.
Backup operations do not back up the appliance maintenance console password. Ensure that you can remember or
retrieve the appliance maintenance console password in some other way. Also, after an upgrade the maintenance console
password is not in sync. After an upgrade to HPE OneView, you must set or change the password to have it propagated to
FLM.
IMPORTANT: You can only reset the password by resetting the appliance to its original factory settings, which
reverts the appliance maintenance console password to its initial setting, none.
Considerations for an appliance cluster
• The active appliance and the standby appliance can have different appliance maintenance console passwords.
• The appliance maintenance console passwords are not synchronized between the active appliance and the standby
appliance.
