Replacing the hot-plug drive blanks

About this task

CAUTION:

To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the sever unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.

Procedure

If installed,

remove the security bezel

Remove the drive blank.

To replace the drive blank, slide the component into the bay until it clicks.

Replacing the hot-plug drive

About this task

CAUTION:

To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the sever unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.

Procedure

Back up all server data on the drive.

If installed,

remove the security bezel

3. Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions

Remove the hot-plug drive.
