To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Removing and replacing the 10SFF drive backplane

CAUTION:

To prevent damage to electrical components, take the appropriate anti-static precautions

before beginning any system installation. Improper grounding can cause electrostatic discharge.

Procedure

Back up all server data.

2. Power down the server

Do one of the following:

•

Extend the server from the rack

•

Remove the server from the rack

4. Remove the access panel

Remove all drives and drive blanks.
Note where each drive is located.

If installed,

remove the Smart Storage Battery

Disconnect all cables from the drive backplane.

Remove the drive backplane.
