There’s a problem with the CD-ROM, CD-RW or DVD drive
Have you checked that... How
There is a disc inserted in the drive • Click on the drive letter assigned to your
drive in Windows Explorer. If you receive
a message such as D
D D D::::\ \ \ \ iiiis s s s nnnnoooot t t t
aaaacccccccceeeess ss ss ssiiiibbbblllleeee////ddddeeeevvvviiiicccce e e e iiiis s s s no no no not t t t rrrreeeeaaaaddddyyyy, this means
there is no disc in the drive.
• Open the drive and check whether there
is a disc inside.
The
Setup
program is correctly configured for your
drive
Enter the
Setup
program by pressing
F2
at
start-up, then make sure that the C

item is enabled.
The drive has been detected Enter the Summary Screen by pressing
Esc
at startup. You should see a drive
declared under IIIID

Enter the
Setup
program by pressing
F2
at

item. If you intend to boot from the
CD-ROM drive, you should place C

before H H H HD D D DD D D D.
The hardware is working properly Run e-DiagTools to see if it detects a
problem with the drive (refer to page 30).

All cables have been properly connected. Open the e-pc’s hard drive compartment
cover and check that the drive’s power and
data cables are correctly connected.
