Performing a Remote Loop Test
To establish a remote loop aurora
Tempo
sends a message to the
remote end of the network, telling it to loop back any data
that is sent to it.
The loop mechanism varies with interface that is being used.
Loop codes are activated in different ways, depending on the
framing type. With ESF framing aurora
Tempo
transmits the loop
codes continuously until instructed to stop. The loop is only
established by the receiving end when :
-
three or more loop codes are received and
-
the sender stops loop code transmission.
With SF framing the receiving end establishes the loop after
it has received codes for five seconds.
aurora
Tempo
enables you to establish two types of loop: CSU
Loop (Sealing Current Reversal) and DSU Loop (BPV
Sequence).

You can only establish a remote loop if aurora
Tempo
is
emulating an OCU.
You can perform a Remote Loop Test from the
Physical
Status
window. To do this:
•
Press the function key labelled
Remote Loop
- the
Remote Loop Test
window is displayed.
