Purpose
The
purpose
of
this
test
is
to
verify
the
External
Reference
Input
specications
.
Description
This
test
veries
that
the
HP
70310A
module's
output
frequency
remains
stable
for
all
specied
external-reference
input
frequencies
and
power
levels
.
Equipment
Connect
the
10
MHz
OUTPUT
from
the
rear
panel
of
the
synthesized
source
to
the
EXT
FREQ
REFERENCE
input
on
the
spectrum
analyzer
.
Calibrate
the
power
meter
according
to
instructions
in
its
Operating
Manual.
Then
connect
the
calibrated
power
meter
through
a
BNC
to
SMB
cable
to
the
RF
OUTPUT
of
the
synthesized
source
.
Calibrate
the
spectrum
analyzer
according
to
instructions
in
its
Operating
Manual.
Then
connect
the
RF
INPUT
of
the
spectrum
analyzer
though
a
BNC
to
SMB
cable
to
the
100
MHz
output
of
the
HP
70310A
module
(device
under
test
or
DUT).
