When ports in an EtherChannel are linking up, the message
EC-5-CANNOT_BUNDLE2
might appear.
This condition is often self-correcting, indicated by the appearance of
EC-5-COMPATIBLE
message
following the first message. On occasion, the issue does not self-correct, and the ports may remain
unbundled.
The workaround is to reload the switch or to restore the EtherChannel bundle by shutting down and
then enabling the member ports and the EtherChannel in this order:
–
Enter the
shutdown
interface configuration command on each member port.
–
Enter the shutdown command on the port-channel interface.
–
Enter the
no shutdown
command on each member port.
–
Enter the
no shutdown
command on the port-channel interface.
There is no workaround.

The switch stack log displays an error message about the redundant power supply (RPS). No RPS
is actually present and the switch is instead powered by the blade chassis.
There is no workaround.
•
CSCth57488
The switch LEDs freeze or behave erratically. The problem occurs with bootloader version
12.2(44)SE5.
There is no workaround.
•
CSCtl05835
For changes in temperature, the command line interface shows the updated temperature but the
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) always shows the temperature as “1 degree
Celsius”.
There is no workaround.
•
CSCtn18139
When the
show spanning-tree vlan
VLAN
interface fastethernet 0
command is entered, the switch
restarts.
The FastEthernet 0 interface is a management interface that does not run Spanning Tree Protocol
(STP). Do not run
show spanning-tree
commands for management interfaces.

CSCtn57224
The switch sends out temperature traps when the temperature is between 58 and 60 degrees Celsius.
There is no workaround.
•
CSCtn57245
The
show env stack
command displays RPS status as “RPS NOT PRESENT”. This could confuse
the customer because Blade switches do not support RPS.
The workaround is to use the
remote command all show env all
command to display environment
information.
