MAINTENANCE
7.
Commissioning
When commissioning the system, also observe the notes
in the installation instructions.
7.1
Checks prior to operation
•
Are the slide valves in the heating flow and return lines
open?
• Is the combustion air supply into the boiler room ade-
quate?
• Is the blocking switch on the control panel at “I”?
• Is the combustion chamber closed?
•
Is the ash box fitted?
• Is the cleaning cover (top) closed?
• Is the pellet hopper full?
• Is the pellet hopper cover closed?
7.2
Switching on
• Takes place automatically via the heating controller
when there is a heat demand.

Maintenance (pellet boiler)
Your Hoval BioLyt (8-43) pellet boiler is equipped with a
fully automatic cleaning device. Both the ash from the bur-
ner and the fly ash in the heat exchanger are discharged
automatically into the ash box. Thus, the only cleaning
work you need to perform regularly is to empty the ash
box. All other cleaning and maintenance work should be
performed once per year (or more frequently, depending
on the pellet throughput) by a heating engineer.
8.1
Cleaning the ash box
The TopTronic E control displays when the “ash box is
full”. This means after a particular number of pellets has
been burned, a warning message appears on the display
(coloured warning triangle).
The warning message can be called up by touching the
warning triangle, see chapter 6.1.
Nevertheless, it is recommended that you look and check
the filling level of the ash box.
Depending on the boiler output, the ash box must be
emptied at the latest after the following amount of pellets
has been consumed:
• 3 tonnes for type BioLyt (8)
• 5 tonnes for type BioLyt (13)
• 6 tonnes for type BioLyt (15-43)
NOTICE
If the ash box is not emptied, this will lead to
a system defect.
8.1.1 Removing the ash box
1. Open the front door and then release the spring clips
(1, Fig. 04) on both sides of the ash box.
2. As soon as you pull the ash box away from the boiler,
the system is switched off and the “Blocking switch
active” error (B:21) appears on the display.

WARNING
Danger of fire as a result of glowing embers.
Do not empty the ash until it is cold.

To lift the ash box, move the extendible handle to first
position (1, Fig. 06) until it engages and place your
second hand under the ash box. When you pull the
ash box, move the extendible handle to second posi-
