Packer
In the working position the machine runs on the
packer.
Due to the weight of the machine a high con-
solidation and a fine crumbly, level surface is
achieved.
Depending on the model, RollFlex-, FarmFlex,
Couble-RollPack- or SteelDisc-packers may
be fitted.
The RollFlex Packer may be fitted as single or
double packer
Double-RollFlex Packer
With damp soil the packers may become clogged
with soil and so become considerably heavier.
This can overload components or soil the roads
during transportation.
Therefore packers must always be
cleaned if they have picked up soil and
before travelling on roads.
Maintenance

Check packer bearings for tight fit.

Check packer shafts for free rotation

Check packer segments for wear, deformation
and breakage
Adjusting the width
With the bolts the outer discs can be adjusted in
width in 4 bore holes. During use the discs can
be pushed in, e.g. at the field boundary.
The sliding section can be fixed with screws, if
this should be necessary.
Due to the transport height of the Terra-
no 7 FM the adjustment must always be
pushed in completely for road transport.
Maintenance
Bearings are oil-filled and therefore maintenance
free.
Bearings for spade discs
Check the discs regularly for play, oil leaks and
free rotation.
Care
Mechanical seals are very sensitive if water has
entered and the machine is then parked over a
long period of time.
This can cause corrosion and both mechanical
seal rings may stick together. The mechanical
seal rings will then rotate around the O-ring and
damage it. Oil would run out and the bearing
would be damaged after a short while.

Bearings must therefore not be cleaned with
high pressure cleaning equipment.

Before long periods of idleness the bearing
locations should be sprayed with a rust in-
hibitor or similar.

Before resuming operation the discs should
be turned by hand and checked for free ro-
tation.
