Firming Wheel
Once the seed exits the seed tube it is
immediately pushed gently into the ground by
the firming wheel. The seed can therefore not be
displaced, resulting in a uniform placement.
Damage to the firming wheel should always be
avoided.

When new, the firming wheel should be set at the
lowest setting. (about 0.25” below the opening
disks) As the opening disks wear, the firming
wheel needs to be adjusted up the same
distance. The wear can be measured in the front
gap between the opening disks and the frame.
When new, the gap is approx. 3mm wide.

With a gap of approx. 3/8”, ¾” and 1”, the firming
wheel must be adjusted up accordingly.
Firming Wheel Adjustment
When replacing the opening disks, adjust the
firming wheel down again.
In wet seeding conditions and
adhesive soils, it may be
required to remove the firming
wheel.
The firming wheel can be inserted into the
bracket upside down for storage when not in use.
Please note when parking the machine, the
firming wheels cannot be set on the ground.
Remove the firming wheels so the machine can
rest on the opening disks.
