Power Failure
To keep the system functional during a power failure, the system is equipped with a
rechargeable back-up battery. This battery operates for a minimum of four hours.
While your system is on battery power, the security system will function normally.
Should the power fail, and the failure last longer then the charge in the batteries, your
entire security system will be disabled. In the event of such a failure the 24-hour
protection points as well as the control panels and programmable outputs will be
completely disabled. Alarms will not sound, in the event of a burglary, fire, or intrusion;
and the Customer Service Center will not receive signals from your system.
The modes, passcodes and information programmed into your system are not
affected, and once power is restored, your system begins operation immediately.
Open and close all points protected by RF transmitters once and the system resets
itself and is fully operational. If your installation does not have any RF transmitters, it
resets itself automatically.
NOTE:
The system will come up MASTER ARM with all protection points armed.
Use a valid passcode to disarm the system.
The system will periodically test the capabilities of the battery to function. Whenever the
battery capacity has deteriorated to the point where it can not deliver the necessary
power on AC failure, the keypad will display the AC POWER FAIL message. Whenever
you see that message contact the Customer Service Center to arrange service.
In the event power is completely lost to the system but other systems such as heating,
lighting and refrigerators are working, check and reset the circuit-breaker that feeds
the alarm system.
If the backup battery is weakened after an extended power outage, your system will
prompt you with a SYS LOW BATTERY message. Honeywell recommends that you
contact the Customer Service Center for service to ensure that the battery will
continue to provide full backup power in the event of another power failure.
Emergency System Shutoff
This procedure completely disables your entire security system including the 24 hour
protected points, the user keypad display panels, and the programmable outputs.
Use this procedure only if:
1. All efforts fail to turn off the audible alarms.
2. You cannot disarm the security portion of the system by any other means.
3. You want to turn off your system for any other reason.
To shut off the system, unlock and open the control panel. Locate the POWER switch
near the right end of the circuit board. Slide the switch down to the OFF position.
IMPORTANT
Call the Honeywell Customer Service Center immediately, provide your
passcard number or code word and describe the problem.
