Burglar Alarm cont.

When You Are Away from Home
If your burglar alarm is triggered while you are away from
home, the Customer Service Center will generally call the
home before dispatching the police to see if you have
accidentally caused a false alarm. After dispatching the
police they will notify the first available person on your Call
List. Your external and internal sirens/bells sound for the
preprogrammed period of time. If you arrive home and hear
the alarm bells/sirens or find the door ajar, DO NOT GO
INSIDE. Go to the nearest telephone and call the police.

Fire Alarm

Follow your family’s fire evacuation plan and move a safe
distance from your home. Do Not Re-enter. Wait for the fire
department, which has been dispatched by the Customer
Service Center. Contact a neighbor, if possible, and call 911
for backup response.

Silencing Any Alarm

When a violation occurs, the alarm will sound, the keypad will scroll between words
such as FIRE and ALARM that describe the nature of the emergency, and words
describing where in your home that violation has taken place. In the event an alarm
occurs while you are at home, first view the display on the keypad and, after investi-
gating the situation, decide the appropriate course of action. Simply entering your
passcode will always disarm the sytem and silence the local alarm. If the light is let
next to the down arrow, pressing that button will show you any point of protection that
is open. If the light is not lit, you can follow the Event Log procedure in the previous
section fo this guide to examind the event sequence.

Burglar Alarm

Whenever a violation of a protected point occurs while the system is armed, you will
see the following messages and responses to your keypad operation.
