SECURITY OPTIONS
Usually you will use your system by selecting the appropriate mode for the situation.
To make the system even more flexible, there are several options available to further
customize your modes and system for unusual or infrequent situations.
Pressing OPTIONS and repeatedly pressing the Down Arrow displays the Security
Options menu for your selection. These options are numbered 1 through 9. When you
select an option, you affect only that command in the current mode. The remaining
mode commands remain unchanged.
The Security Options menu allows you to:

Bypass points.
• Select and change passcodes.
• View the event log.
• Turn the user keypad non-alarm audible on or off.
• Enable remote programming if necessary.
• Enable or disable the service passcode.
• Select the help screen speed.
• Test the RF transmitters in system (only used by installation or service personnel).
• Set system’s date and time.
Bypass Option
Bypassing enables you to arm part of the security system while leaving other normally
protected points disarmed. It is similar to Force Arming (see the Force Arming Your
System section). By using the Bypass Points option, you can select an area and then
the specific points you choose to bypass directly from the user keypad. The points can
be freely opened or closed after you bypass them.
When to Use Bypass
Select Bypass if you want to leave a protected point such as a window or door open
for ventilation or a protected door open to the patio while arming the remainder of the
system. Unlike Force Arming, you do not have to open the point to bypass it.
