If you cannot unlock the tailgate,
access the tailgate latch in the back
of the tailgate to unlock it from the
inside.
Use a small flat-tipped screwdriver to
remove the cover on the centre back
of the tailgate.
If the symbol ‘‘ ’’ or the
symbol with a ‘‘CHECK SYSTEM’’
message appears on the multi-
information display, it indicates a
problem in the system. Have the
system inspected by your dealer.
With this warning on, you can still
open and close the tailgate manually.
The power tailgate also features
electrically-assisted closing. When
you manually close the power
tailgate to the half ajar position, a
motor in the latch will pull the
tailgate fully closed.
Make sure that passengers’ hands or
fingers are away from the tailgate.
Do not put any other force on the
tailgate while the power tailgate
closer is activated. This will damage
the power tailgate.
If you close the tailgate with the
release handle pulled, the power
tailgate closer will not operate. If you
pull the release handle while the
power tailgate closer is operating, it
will stop operation leaving the
tailgate ajar.
