Troubleshooting

Symptom

Checking Item

Power is not turned to ON.

* Check if the cable is connected to the unit and the respective inlet

correctly.

* Check if the power is supplied by connecting the cable to the

inlet of other equipment.

* Check if the power switch is set to the ON position completely.

* Check if the power is supplied a proper voltage.

Power is not turned on after you
turned off.

* Interval of turning on and off may be too short. Take at least five seconds

to turn on after you turned off.

The unit does not work as
expected.

* Check if the disc is correctly inserted in the drive.

* Check if the disc complies with the specifications.

* Check if the disc is accumulated with dust or the like, or if any
condensing is observed on the surface.

* Check if the unit is moved from low temperature environment to high

temperature environment in a short time. The lens of the optical head may
have caused condensing. Leave the unit with the power turned on for a while,
then restart it.

DSR freezes with

* Firmware of DSR may not boot up properly. Try to reload a firmware CD.

Firmware CD can be made by downloading from the site
(http:www.hoei.co.jp) and burn a CD-R on your PC.

Firmware

DSR has the Flash ROM inside which enable to upgrade the firmware by loading a firmware CD without opening its cover.

Firmware CD is exclusively use for DSR only.

How to upgrade / reload the firmware CD

1. Turn on DSR with pressing the YES switch.

2. Insert the firmware CD after opening the tray of DVD-ROM drive.

INSERT
PROGRAM DISC

3. DSR automatically upgrades/reloads the firmware after analyzing the firmware CD.

4. CD is automatically ejected after upgrade completes.
