9.1
Intended Use
9.1.1
General
AC servo motors are components of a precise positioning system in terms of time and location
of fixed mounted loads, e.g. system components, within an automated system. Before they
delivered, they are inspected to ensure that they operate safely.

Servo motors must only be used for the intended purpose as described.
Servo motors must be operated within their specified performance limits.
Servo motors must not be used outdoors or in potentially explosive atmospheres.
For the safe operation of AC servo motors, suitable safety precautions must be taken to
protect the motor against overload.
Proper use of the AC servo motors includes observing the assembly instructions and
following the maintenance and repair specifications.
Use only genuine spare parts from HIWIN.
Use of the AC servo motor components for any other purpose shall be considered improper
use.
HIWIN, which is the manufacturer, does not provide any warranty or pay any damages caused
by products not being used for the intended purpose. Any risks of the products being improper
used are the only responsibility of the user.
Before using motors, these conditions that shown below must be observed so as to ensure that
they are used as intended.
Everyone who handles one of our products must carefully read and understand the
corresponding notices regarding safety and regarding the intended use.
Products must be installed according to the relations specified in the manual.
Damaged products must not be installed or operated.

Personal Protective Equipment
When in the vicinity of the AC servo motor systems, the following personal protective equipment
is required:
Safety shoes
Protective helmet
Protective gloves
