(2) SNMP security configuration
1. In the “
SNMP Service Properties
” window, select the
Security
tab.
2. If you want to send a trap message whenever authentication fails, select the “
Send
authentication trap
” check box.
3. Under “
Accepted community names
,” click
Add
. The “
SNMP Service
Configuration
” window is displayed. In the “
Community rights
” list, select
READ
ONLY
. In the
Community Name
box, type the community name you want, and click
Add
.
4. Specify whether to accept SNMP packets from hosts.
If you want to accept SNMP packets from any manager on the network:
• Select
Accept SNMP packets from any host
.
If you want to restrict SNMP packets:
• Select
Accept SNMP packets from these hosts
.
• Click
Add
.
• The “
SNMP Service Configuration
” window is displayed. Enter the host name, IP
or IPX address of a host you want to accept the SNMP packets from, and click
Add
.
5. In the “
SNMP Service Properties
” window, click
Apply
.
