Connecting the Computer Cables

Connecting an External Modem

When the printer is configured for an external modem, there is a 9-pin male 
connector on the I/O plate at the rear of the printer.

1.

Using the appropriate cable, connect the printer to the fax modem.

2.

Using the telephone cord, connect the telephone to your fax modem.

NOTE

: 

The cable that connects the printer to the fax modem must be 
supplied by the user.

NOTE

: 

Using the fax modem adapter on any phone line with a call-
waiting feature is not recommended.
