HYDRAULIC SOLENOID SPIKE SUPPRESSORS

The  following  drawing  shows  the  installation  of 
the  hydraulic  solenoid  spike  suppressors.  Note 
that  the  large  ring  terminal  is  the  positive  end 
of  the  diodes  and  is  attached  to  point A,  which 
is the ground connection of the hydraulic power 
unit.  The  remaining  terminals  are  the  negative 
ends of the diodes. 

The  small  ring  terminal  is  attached  to  point  B, 
the  #10-32  stud  on  the  solenoid  along  with  the 
brown  control  wire.  The  remaining  two  piggy-
back  terminals  are  attached  to  points  C  and  D 
with the orange and green control wires. The two 
terminals are interchangeable.

3 DIOE SPIKE SUPPRESSOR PCB

Internal Spike Suppressors

Starting  with  model  year  2000  plows,  the  hy-
draulic solenoid spike suppression diodes were 
mounted  on  the  wire  splice  PCB  located  in  the 
plow  harness.  The  PCB  was  also  incorporated 
into  any  model  year  1996  -  1999  replacement 
plow harnesses.

Also starting with the model year 2000, the mo-
tor  solenoid  spike  suppression  diode  was  built 
into  the  under  hood  harness.  Model  year  1996 
- 1999 plows still need to rely on the suppression 
diode mounted on the motor solenoid.
