netX 90 Firmware

The IO-Link function in the sensorEDGE device is provided by the device-
embedded network controller

netX 90

. In case an update of the firmware

for this controller is necessary, the

netX 90 Firmware

update tab can be

used.

Note:

The netX 90 firmware needs to be updated only in rare cases (after
consultation with the Hilscher support). Note also that the update
requires local access; i.e. it can be performed only here in the Local
Device Manager – not via the sensorEDGE Portal.

To update the netX 90 firmware, proceed as follows:

1. Download the netX 90 firmware ZIP archive file from Hilscher (contact

Hilscher support for instructions).

2. Upload the ZIP archive file from your local PC to the device.

tab, simply drag and drop the ZIP archive file

from the Explorer of your local PC onto the

After having added the update file to the field, click

to start the update.

The firmware is uploaded to the device. This might take a few minutes.
After uploading has been finished, the new netX 90 firmware is
automatically installed.
After installation, the netX 90 controller is automatically reset by the
sensorEDGE device.
