5 GETTING STARTED
The first time your TESATRONIC is powered up, the default mode used is the standard one
with direct displaying of the measured values (no value classification). Although the instru-
ment has been calibrated in our works, you may need to carry out a new calibration. If so,
proceed as described in chapter 9.3. To be able to measure with value classification, the
tolerance mode must be activated (see relevant chapter).
– Unpack the instrument.
– Connect the charger appropriately (
2 , Fig. 2), and then plug it to the mains
(230 V or 115 V for US).
– Connect each probe ( 3 and 4 , Fig. 2).
– Turn the instrument ON using the power switch ( 1 , Fig. 2).
A self-test is being run for 7 sec. approximately.
– Take the measurements.
Standard default mode
– External measurement.
– Measuring function «A».
– Metric unit (micrometers).
– Offset of A and B = 0. Symbol
appears under each channel.
– Analogue indication ± 5000 µm.
– Numerical indication (barograph).
– Unlocked keypad.
– Synchronous series output, 5 good classes.
– Analogue output ±2 V.
Warning
The status of the switches is taken into account as the unit is powered up. Any changes to
this status can only be made with the unit turned off. The configuration lastly set is stored
in the memory. This occurs about 20 seconds after last modification. Once calibrated, the
instrument is defaulted to its standard configuration.
6 FUNCTION KEYS
Your TESATRONIC, but also its functions are set through the tactile keypad (10 keys).
Convention
Short pressure < 0,5 sec.
Long pressure > 1 sec.
