Fan unit ELS EC..
Installation and Operating Instructions
6.5 Operation
m
The safety instructions specified in section 1.2 must be observed!
In order to ensure the faultless functioning of the fan, the following must be checked regularly:
– Formation of dust or dirt deposits in the casing or on the motor and impeller
– Free movement of the impeller
– Occurrence of excessive vibrations and noises
In case of problems with one of the aforementioned points, maintenance must be carried out according to the instructions in
chapter 8.
7.0 Functional description Fan unit ELS EC..
Ventilation through activation/deactivation e.g. in combination with light switch or multistage with stage switch.
Required ventilation
Regardless of sensor operation (F or P types), the stages can be activated or deactivated using a light switch via the
control inputs. The last actuated stage always runs.
7.1 Functional description Fan unit ELS EC.. N
Ventilation through activation/deactivation with fixed start-up delay of 45 sec. and fixed overrun time of 15 min. e.g. in
combination with light switch or multistage with stage switch.
The start-up delay for multi-speed types only takes place from standstill. The overrun time for multi-speed types only
takes place for the last actuated stage.
1. Required ventilation
Regardless of sensor operation (F or P types), the stages can be activated or deactivated using a light switch via the
control inputs. The last actuated stage always runs.
2. Start-up delay
Following the activation of the fan via the required ventilation (terminal 1/2/3), operation begins after the set delay time
(at all stages for multi-speed types). Thus, e.g. in case of joint activation/deactivation with the light, a room can be ente-
red temporarily, without the fan becoming operational. Factory setting approx. 45 seconds.
3. Overrun
The fan will continue to run after the deactivation of the required ventilation, and after the deactivation of all required
ventilations for multi-speed types, during the set time and it will then automatically deactivate. Factory setting approx.
15 minutes.
4. Changing the factory settings
Changes must be made before the installation of the fan unit. An installed fan unit must be removed from the casing
(see section 8.1), and the terminal box cover must be removed (see section 9.1).
7.2 Functional description Fan unit ELS EC.. NC (with start-up delay, overrun & interval switching)
With start-up delay, integrated codable overrun and interval switching. Optional start-up delay 0 or approx. 45 sec.,
optional overrun time approx. 6, 10, 15, 21 minutes, optional interval time approx. 0, 8, 12, 24 hrs. The factory setting
(15 minutes) can be set or changed using the DIP switch on the circuit board (see Fig. 19 and 20).
The start-up delay and overrun time for multi-speed types takes place at all stages. The interval switching always works
at the highest stage.
The start-up delay only takes place from standstill. The overrun time only takes place for the last actuated stage.
m
The factory settings (start-up delay 45 sec., overrun time 15 min.) must only be set or changed by an authori-
sed electrician!
Before opening the cover:
After fully isolating the unit from the power supply and removing the spiral from the casing, wait 3 min. until the connec-
tion cover can be opened.
Material damage due to touching electronic parts!
The unit electronics can be destroyed by a static discharge.
►
Observe protection against electrostatic charges, e.g. protective gown, conductive footwear and/or wrist strap.
►
Do not touch open contacts!
The coding must take place before the installation of the fan unit!
Push button operation only possible when the activation threshold is set to 0 seconds.
