3 Writing to or altering the memory contents
3.1 General
If TEDS is referenced at HBM as a complete solution on new HBM
transducers or as an expansion of existing transducers, data is already written
to the TEDS memory so that the TEDS can be used immediately. This applies
to both transducers with TEDS memory integrated in the transducer housing
and those fitted with a TEDS module in the transducer connector or cable.
The user then has to enter variations and amendments if necessary.
If TEDS modules are referenced for self fitting , the user has to write the
transducer data to the TEDS memory.
NOTE
If additional, optional templates are created and some are
manufacturer-specific, it is recommended for compatibility reasons
always to arrange the manufacturer-specific templates in the
TEDS memory after all templates which meet the IEEE 1451.4
standard. Otherwise there is a risk that the last IEEE templates
cannot be interpreted.
3.2 The TEDS Editor reference options
HBM provides you with the TEDS Editor for storing your data
This is included in the software for the MGCplus -Setup- Assistant from
version 3.1 and higher (on the system -CD supplied with every MGC system
and in its constantly updated version as a download from www.hbm.com
->Unterstützung / Support -> Downloads->Software -> MGCplus-Assistent).
Similarly the TEDS Editor is included in the HBM catman


software from version 5.0 and higher (older versions of catman

can also be
combined with an updated version of the MGCplus Setup Assistant, so that
the TEDS-Editor is available).
