3. Terminals
On the lower side of the reader housing the different cable connectors are positioned. Fig. 2
shows the arrangement of the connectors and Table 3 shows which connection for the different
cables are used for. Table 4 shows the available push buttons.

ANT 1-4 Connection of the external antennas (Impedance 50 Ω)
X1 Power supply 24 V DC ±5 %
X2 10/100Base-T network connection with RJ45 (with PoE)
X3 USB interface for host communication

X5 Digital input and output and relay output
X6 RS 232 / RS 485 interface

3.1 Antenna connection
ATTENTION
The reader Ha-VIS RF-R500-p offers the option to supply 24 V DC on the antenna outputs.
If the voltage is applied directly to an antenna, the antenna can be destroyed and cause fire
(see system manual section 4.4 CFG3).
This power must only be used in combination with an external, optional antenna multiplexer.
The external SMA antenna connectors are positioned on the lower side of the reader.
The maximum tightening torque for the SMA sockets is 0.45 Nm (4.0 lbf in).
ATTENTION
Exceeding the tightening torque will destroy the plug.
