Power On Volume
It is likely that you will use the Citation 7.0 to listen to a wide range of program material, from action movies and
symphonies to soft ballads and background music. Each of these materials may be played at a different volume level,
as best suits the specific listening session. Volume level is easy to adjust, using the “+” and “-” buttons on the remote.
A problem can arise, however, when the volume level appropriate to one listening session is different from that used in
the prior session. If the volume were to come up at the level last used, there is the possibility that it may be much too
loud or too soft.
To avoid this type of problem, the 7.0 will always come up at the same preset volume level. The factory preset level is
shown in appendix #xx, but it may easily be changed using the following steps:
Press “Options Set” to reach “Options Set - Status”, and then “
Ð
“ to reach the main “Options Set” control menu.
At the “Options Set” menu, press “

times, so that the on screen “

VOLUME” line. (Figure #xx). Press “Select” to move to the “Power On Volume” menu.
At the “Power On Volume” menu (Figure #xx), use the “
Î
“ and “
Í
“ buttons to adjust the volume level that will used
every time the unit is turned on. As adjustments are made you will be able to hear the changes instantly. For reference
purposes, an on screen bar graph and two digit readout will display the changing level. Once you have reached a
preferred volume, it is a good idea to write it down on a systems settings worksheet (Appendix #xx) so that you have a
record of the setting should it later be necessary to reprogram the unit. .
When the desired volume level is in place, press “Exit/OK” to return to the “Options Set” menu. If no other changes are
required, press “Exit/OK” twice to return to normal operation.
Crossover
The Citation 7.0 contains a built in electronic crossover. This means that special circuitry is available to route bass
frequencies below 80 Hz. to a separate subwoofer speaker. At the same time, these frequencies are specifically
removed from the main channel (left, center and right) speaker outputs.
NOTE:
To provide optimal performance, the Home THX specifications require this crossover, and they also
strongly suggest that THX Certified speakers be used for the front channels as well. THX Certified front channel
speakers are not designed to accept low frequency signals at high volume, as they are meant for use in conjunction
with separate subwoofers.
WARNING: When THX certified front channel speakers are used in a system, it is essential that the
Crossover be set to “IN”. Use of THX speakers at high volume with the crossover circuit in the wrong position
may cause damage to those speakers that is not covered by their manufacturer’s warranty.
To prevent potential speaker damage, the 7.0 is shipped from the factory with the crossover circuits engaged. If your
system uses full range speakers, the crossover setting should be changed using the following steps:
Press “Options Set” to reach the “Options Set - Status” screen, and then “Select” to reach the main “Options Set”
control menu.
At the “Options Set” menu, press “
Ð
“
four
times so that the on screen “

“ pointer is next to the “Crossover” line.
(Figure #xx). Press “Select” to move to the next screen.
At the “Options Set - Crossover” menu (Figure #xx), use the “
Ï
“ or “
Ð
“ buttons so that the on screen “
Ö

next to the desired mode of operation.
Select “IN” if you wish to have the electronic crossover engaged for use with THX certified speakers.
Select “OUT” for use with traditional full range front channel speakers, or when an external crossover is in use.
When a mode has been chosen, press “Select” and note that the “
“ cursor block will move next to the desired option.
