Regular checks
A few simple and regular checks can save
you from unpleasant surprises. Check regu-
larly whether
– the fittings of the inlet hose are sitting se-
curely and are sealed when the valve is
open;
– the outlet hose is sitting securely and tight-
ly on the edge of the bath or on the siphon;
– the outlet hose is sitting tightly in the retain-
ing clip at the point where it comes out of
the casing;
– the inlet and outlet hoses are brittle,
cracked or creased;
– the lint trap is closed tightly;
– the rubber sleeve of the loading door is free
of foreign objects such as buttons, paper
clips, etc.;
– the drum is free of foreign objects;
– the drum shows signs of rust.
Cleaning the loading door
1. Pull back the folds of the rubber sleeve
carefully and remove all objects from be-
hind it.
2. Wipe the loading door (12) and the rubber
sleeve with a soft, damp cloth on the out-
side and inside, and then wipe them both
dry.
Cleaning the drum
• If necessary, run the ‘Extras’ sub-cycle ‘
4 Drum cleaning’.
• If you have used starch or fabric sizing,
wipe out the drum with a moist cloth.
After wiping, leave the loading door (12)
open to let the moisture inside evaporate.
