“Start With a Mix” Recipes
Try these waffle variations made easy when prepared with a packaged mix.
NOTE:
When using packaged pancake and waffle mix, the package directions for
waffles call for 2 cups of the packaged mix and 1

then add oil and eggs. If the following variations call to reduce or increase the liquid, it is

Banana-Pecan Waffles
Add 1 mashed banana and

Beer Batter Waffles
Replace all the liquid with beer.
Honey & Nut Waffles
Reduce liquid to 1 cup. Add

Applesauce Waffles

PB&J Waffles

cup. Serve topped with melted jelly.
Cinnamon-Sugar Waffles
Combine 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Spray grids with cooking
spray. Pour batter onto grids. Sprinkle batter with some cinnamon-sugar before
closing lid.

Buckwheat Waffles

In a large bowl, mix together the buckwheat flour, flour, sugar, baking powder, and
salt. Set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and butter. Pour the
egg mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour batter onto
waffle baker.
Makes 4 cups batter.
Rich Butter Waffles

In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl,
whisk together eggs, butter, and milk. Add egg mixture to dry ingredients and mix until
thoroughly mixed. Pour batter onto waffle baker.
