Text messages (SMS)
General
You can also write, send and receive text messages (SMS) with
your handset. These messages can only be received by SMS-
capable devices such as PCs, mobile telephones, other
telephones and fax machines. If the recipient has no SMS-capable
telephone, he will receive the SMS as a speech message.
Requirements:
The Caller-ID
(CLIP)
and the call number transmission on
your landline telephone connection must be activated!
Note also the Chapter “Configuring the SMS menu”.
Contact your service provider and ensure that these
performance features are activated for your telephone
connection. You may have to apply for these performance
features from your service provider. The performance feature
“Caller-ID” is a chargeable service.
Remember also that not
every provider, even in the GMS range, supports the
transmission of SMS messages to the landline network,
and may only transmit the SMS message acoustically.
Your telephone is preset to the SMS Centre of Deutsche
Telekom. You can of course change these entries.
