II. Full Boot ROM upgrading program
The Boot ROM program includes a basic segment and extended
segment. The full Boot ROM upgrading program provided for the user
includes both the basic segment and the extended segment, while the
extended segment upgrade program only includes the extended
segment of the Boot ROM program. If an error occurs during the
upgrade of the full Boot ROM program, the system may fail to start
after the upgrade, and special equipment must be used to repair the
system. If an error occurs during the upgrade of the extended segment,
you can repair the system through some simple methods. Therefore,
try to avoid upgrading the full Boot ROM program if an upgrade of the
extended segment can meet your requirement.
Step 1: Access the Boot Menu (refer to section5.1 Boot Menu”),
and select <5> to access the Boot ROM operation sub-menu.
Bootrom Operation Menu:
1: Download Bootrom with XModem
2: Download Extended Segment of Bootrom with XModem
3: Restore Extended Segment of Bootrom from FLASH
4: Backup Extended Segment of Bootrom to FLASH
5: Exit to Main Menu

Options of the Boot menu are described below:
1: Download the extended segment of Boot ROM with XModem;
2: Modify the Boot ROM password;
3: Instruct the system to load the Boot ROM program previously
backed up from the Flash memory;
