1. Designated use
The designated use for the charger comprises the
char ging and charge refreshing of 12 V vehicle
batteries which are suitable for the voltage
and charging current which are specifi ed in the
technical data.
The charger may only be used if the instructions
for use which come with it and these notes are
followed.
Any use other than that described previously will
result in damage to this product, and this may also
result in hazards such as short circuits, fi re, electric
shock etc.
The user shall bear sole responsibility for any da-
mage caused by disregard of the user guide and
these notes.
The product complies with statutory, national and
European requirements. All of the company names
and product designations used are registered trade-
marks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.
2. Warning:
This product is only suitable for char ging 12V
lead batteries. Never attempt to charge other
types of battery (e.g. NiCd, NiMH, LiPo) or
batteries which are not rechargeable! There is a
risk of fi re and explosion!
Follow all of the safety advice and charging
instructions issued by the manufacturer of the
bat tery. If the lead battery is fi llable, please follow
the information issued by the manufacturer of
the battery in relation to this.
When you are handling lead batteries, suitable
protective clothing and protective goggles
should be worn for safety reasons.
The charger should be protected from moisture
and splashing water.
The charger can become hot to touch during
operation.
Keep out of the reach of children during ope ra-
tion and when not being used.
To avoid any risk of hazard, if the mains connection
lead or the charging cable is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, a specialist workshop
or a similarly qualifi ed person.
3. Warnings
Never cover ventilation slots or
the charger or place on a fl ammable
substrate!
Keep the charger and the connecting cable
away from heat sources!
Only use the charger in an ambient temp-
erature of between –15°C and +40°C.
Do not use the charger in the vicinity of fl am-
mable liquids, gases and vapours, large clouds
of dust, atmospheric humidity of more than
80% and moisture.
If it is no longer possible to operate the
charger safely, disconnect the charger from
the mains and from the battery, and secure it
against unintentional use.
Never wear rings, necklaces, watches
or similar jewellery when handling
batteries or chargers. There is a burn
and explosion risk if there is a short
circuit between the battery contacts.
