The year and leap year display

The perpetual Flash Calendar used in the ENDEAVOUR  
PERPETUAL CALENDAR is based on the Gregorian calendar 
in use today. In this system, every 4 years the month of  
February is one day longer than the usual 28 days. This is 
called a leap year. If the watch is in regular use, you will not 
take much notice of this as the calendar will show the right 
date even in leap years, just as reliably as it differentiates 
months with 30 days from months with 31. If your watch 
has not been used for a while, however, the exact year after 
the last leap year will also need to be checked and possibly 
adjusted when setting the right date. To enable you to do 
this, the back of the watch features a leap year indicator 
(8) with the numbers 1, 2 and 3, as well as a black field 
symbolising the leap year, which can be seen through the 
glass back. The display on the leap year indicator repeats 
a total of three times.
