The ammeter indicator needle is not
moving.
Power supply problem
Check the mains supply
Check that the device is in charge
mode
Clamps in short-circuit or polarity re-
versal
Check the fuses have not blown and
the circuit breaker is not depressed.
The battery is deeply damaged
Check the state of the batttery with
a volt meter. If the voltage doesn’t
reach 2.5V per cell instantaneously,
the battery could be sulphated or
damaged.
Voltage problem (12V or 24V)
Check that the voltage switch is in
the appropriate position (12 or 24V)
Thermal protection mode is acti-
vated:
Wait for the unit to cool down before
retrying (approx 5 - 10 mins)

The battery is sulphated or one of its
elements has short-circuited.
Change the battery or try to recover
it on manual charge by turning the
control to maximum - switch back to
automatic mode as soon as the cur-
rent starts to rise.
The amperage control is set to maxi-
mum
Set the Amperage control to 1/10 of
the battery capacity.

gher than 20A when the switch is at
minimum.
The battery is deeply discharged
Maintain the charge by setting the
unit to minimum.
Voltage problem (12V or 24V)
Check that the voltage switch is in
the appropriate position (12 or 24V)
Some elements of the battery have
short-circuited
Change battery

The unit trips.
You are attempting to start the
vehicle when it is in Charge mode.
Ensure the switch is on « Start »
mode or you will damage the unit.
Reset the circuit breaker (except
Gystart 1224T)
You are attempting to start the
vehicle without using the remote
control switch.
You must push the remote control
button or you will damage the unit.
Reset the circuit breaker.
You are attempting to charge a 12V
battery whilst in 24V mode
Turn the voltage switch to 12V.
