The cutting head must be able to run
freely.
Before starting the equipment, ensure that
the cutting head is sitting correctly and that
the moving parts are free.
Warning! If there is any doubt,
seek help with the operation of
this equipment from a specialist in
an authorised service centre.
Putting on the Carrying Strap
(Picture 9)
Always wear a shoulder strap
when working with the equipment.
Always switch off the equipment
before loosening the shoulder
strap. Risk of accidents.
1. Put on the carrying strap (28) and close
the strap clasp (38).
2. Adjust the strap so it fits tightly.
3. Adjust the strap so the spring clip (39) is
around 10 cm below the hip.
4. Fix the spring clip onto the lifting ring (23)
on the shaft tube of the equipment.
Unhook the equipment before start-
ing the engine and fix it to the carry
-
ing strap with the engine running.

Starting the Engine (Picture 10)
Start the engine at least three me-
tres from the filling location
Ensure that the protective cap on the
thread cutter (see picture 7, no. 14)
has been removed.
1. Press the fuel pump 5-10 times (see pic-
ture 1, no. 7).
2. Set the On/Off switch (40) on the switch-
ing element (22) to the position “ON”
.
3. Start the engine without the choke:
Leave the choke lever (4) in position
.
4. Firmly hold the device with one hand at
the upper shaft tube (10). With the other
hand pull the starter cable at the starter
handle (3) quickly several times in suc-
cession until the engine starts.
Caution! Do not pull the stater cable
out too far- Danger of breakage!
5. If the engine starts, continue to Point 8.
If the engine does not start after several
start attempts:
6. Start the device with the choke:
Set the choke lever (4) in position
.
If the motor briefly starts and shuts off again:
7. Set the choke lever (4) into the central
position
and repeat the start at-
tempts until the engine starts.
8. Let the motor warm up in the idling mix-
ture (approximately 30-90 seconds).
9. Fasten the device to the carrying strap
that has been put on (see chapter “Put-
ting on the Carrying Strap”).
10. To mow, keep the throttle lock (41)
pressed down and operate the throttle
(42).
When the throttle is operated, choke
lever (4) automatically jumps back.
