Keypad Numeric Entry Buttons
The E-MEM keypad has 12 numeric entry buttons (
0-9
,
Undo/•
,
Enter
). These
buttons are used to recall registers directly or to enter numeric values in
conjunction with the prefix buttons for other functions (see below).
Same Bank Effect Recall
The default use of the keypad when a prefix button is not active is to recall
an effect to that M/E. Rapid effects recall is accomplished by organizing the
registers as ten banks of ten registers each (see
Registers in the same bank are recalled by simply pressing one of the
0-9
buttons on the E-MEM keypad. This provides immediate, single button
access to ten effects. For example, if bank four is currently active, pressing
the
6
button immediately recalls register 46. Effects from other banks are
recalled using prefix buttons, described below.

The prefix buttons (

)
determine which function will be affected by the values entered on the
numeric keypad. Some functions are nested. For example, within a Learn
operation it is possible to specify a Sequence with the
Seq
prefix button, and
within a Sequence it is possible to specify delays using the
Trans Rate
prefix
button. Some of the prefix buttons also have different modes, selected with

button.
When pressed, a prefix button goes high tally to indicate that function has
been selected. Pressing a lit prefix button cancels that operation. The
E-MEM readout prompts the operator when a prefix button is used (except

).
Direct Bank Buttons
The two direct bank buttons (
Bank 0
and
Bank 1
) located to the right of the
keypad allow faster access to 2 of the 10 banks. Banks 0 and 1 can be
selected instantly with a single press of the appropriate bank button. Banks
2 through 9 are accessed by pressing the

Bank
button and then the bank
number on the keypad as explained below.
For example, the following button presses will recall a register from bank 0:
Bank 0, register number
Subsequent single button register selections will be from that new bank
unless another bank is selected before the operation. Direct bank selection
is available on the E-MEM subpanels for Recall, Learn, Sequence, and
Effect Dissolve operations.
