Using diagnostic tools
Flash Drive. When the K2 Solo Media Server boots, do not proceed with the
recovery procedure.
5. Remove the CompactFlash boot media from the K2 Solo Media Server.
If the USB Recovery Flash Drive is in the USB port on the front bezel assembly,
you can remove the front bezel assembly to access the CompactFlash boot media.
Doing so does not disrupt the Acronis True Image program.
6. Insert the blank CompactFlash boot media into the K2 Solo Media Server.
7. Restore the image to the blank CompactFlash boot media.
This is now the Recovery CompactFlash boot media for that particular K2 Solo
Media Server.
8. Remove the Recovery CompactFlash boot media from the K2 Solo Media Server.
9. Insert the original CompactFlash boot media into the K2 Solo Media Server.
10. Click
Operations | Exit
to exit the Acronis True Image program.
The K2 Solo Media Server restarts automatically.
11. Remove the USB Recovery Flash Drive while the K2 Solo Media Server is
shutting down.
12. Store the Recovery CompactFlash boot media in a place where it can be retrieved
quickly and easily identified with the K2 Solo Media Server it restores.
13. If a system fault occurs and you need to restore the K2 Solo Media Server, you can
do so using the Recovery CompactFlash boot media as follows:
a. Shutdown the K2 Solo Media Server.
b. Exchange the current CompactFlash boot media with the K2 Solo Media
Server’s Recovery CompactFlash boot media.
NOTE: On an individual K2 Solo Media Server use only the Recovery
CompactFlash boot media prepared for that specific K2 Solo Media Server. Do not
attempt to use the Recovery CompactFlash boot media from a different K2 Solo
Media Server.
c. Start up the K2 Solo Media Server.
The K2 Solo Media Server boots from the Recovery CompactFlash boot media
with the system intact as it existed when you created the Recovery CompactFlash
boot media.
Using diagnostic tools
Use the following sections as necessary to identify problems.
Running Check Disk
If your K2 Summit Production Client has a critical system fault, you should run Check
Disk to identify and remove any corrupted files.
